ABOUT THE PATTERN

South Vest is a classic, timeless and usable vest that can be used for most occasions.

The spilt in the side gives it a cool look, and the yarn combination it is knitted in makes it incredibly soft and delicious. Wear the vest over a dress, for jeans or as a top in the summer, and play with the rich color chart of HipKnitShop when choosing yarn.

South Vest is knitted from top to bottom, whit shoulder increases and short rows to shape the neckline. The short rows are worked with increases on both RS and WS, before dividing your work and knitting the front and back piece separately. The work is connected for a short bode, which is divided again and knitted separately to get the high split.

South Vest should have a range of motion about 2-6 cm (0,79-2,36 inches) to your own chest size.

Begin by working a swatch to determine which needle size you need to achieve the correct gauge. Too many stitches pr 10 cm/ 4 inch try with a bigger needle, too few switch to a smaller size needle. .

4 mm / US6 (circular needles 60 cm / 23,6 inch + 80 cm / 32 inch and knitting needles if you don´t knit with magic loop) 

4,5 mm / US7 (cirkular needles 40 + 60 eller 80 cm / 15,75 + 23,6 + 32 inches)
