ABOUT THIS PATTERN

Congratulations, you are now about to knit this spring, summer, fall and winters must have statement garment: Simone sweater (said in humbleness, of course). Simone sweater has a grafic and delicate pattern, and you can play with colours and expressions and in that way secure yourself a garment that suits precisely you. The sweater should be very oversized, and I myself knitted mine in the maxi-version so that it goes below the bum (I am 172cm/5’7), and it can almost fit 2xme in bust circumference – but also here you can choose from your own desires.

This pattern explains both the maxi, midi and mini versions, and if you want a tighter fit or more oversized than the measurement guide for your size; pick the bust circumference you want! The sweater is knitted from the bottom up, and it is knitted according to the number of rounds in the pattern, not cm or inch – which means you have to be accurate about your knitting gauge. Measure your gauge, while pattern knitting, to make sure your sweater gets the correct measurements.

On the next page you’ll find the chart for MAXI (84 rounds/rows), MIDI (64 rounds/rows) and MINI (44 rounds/rows). Knit from the chart for the size you chose.

The sleeves for MAXI and MINI should be knit like the MIDI-chart, if not the sleeves will become really long/short. As an alternative for size MINI you could repeat row 3-30 from the MINI chart (about 13 cm/5 in).

Important: The charts have rows that are not knitted with two strands of yarn. This might lead to a difference in gauge. If your gauge is not the same with one strand as it is with two strands, switch to a smaller needle size. If your gauge varies it will lead to an uneven result.

SIZES:

XS/S (M/L) XL/XXL

GAUGE:

15 STS/21 ROWS = 10*10 CM (4*4 IN)

Remember to knit a swatch before you start. If you get too many sts per 10 cm/4 in try with a bigger ndl, of you get too few sts switch to a smaller ndl size. The sweater is knitted by number of rows/rnds, not cm/in. If your gauge is wrong both the length and width will be wrong.

NEEDLES:

5mm/US 8 (circular needle 60 cm/24 in + double pointed needles if you don’t knit with magic loop)

6mm/US 10 (circular needle 40 cm/16 in, 80 cm/32 in + double pointed needles if you don’t knit with magic loop)
